GOURMET LABOR DAY BBQ in Los Gatos, Sunday, Sept. 2, 2007

On Sunday of Labor Day weekend we are having a BBQ up at Tim's house on top of the mountain. You must email me for the Evite that has all of the details. There will be a gourmet potluck BBQ so impress us with your culinary abilities or your keen sense on where to buy the best stuff! The hot tub is working and there are great views from the deck of the Monterey Bay, the lights of the Carmel Peninsula and the Santa Cruz Mountains. We'll have dancing on the
deck and plenty of crash space if you need to spend the night. You must email me for the Evite with directions, etc.

Happy Hour at Zeitgeist in San Francisco, Saturday, Sept. 15, 6 PM - ?

Lightning strikes Twice!

Because of the resounding success of Julie and Colin's first Zeitgeist event in San Francisco, we are going to try and recreate the events that led to such a great gathering with an added twist... an after party in Benjamin's loft space that will feature good music, more beer, tasty snacks and quite possibly Guitar Hero 2 on the XBOX 360.

As you may already know, Zeitgeist features a big backyard with picnic tables, a giant BBQ turning out burgers (with grilled cheese and veggie burgers for the vegetarians), as well as the general pleasures to be found at the bottom of a frosty, beer-type beverage. 20 beers on tap, including the infamous Racer 5 so bring your thirst!

Although we had a great crowd last time, we are specially choosing a Saturday night so we can get better attendance from other parts of Northern California. Cross that bridge, drive up that Peninsula or buy that BART ticket and have some fun - SF style.

The details:

Date - September 15th, 2007
Co-Hosts - Benjamin and Julie
Location - Zeitgeist,  199 Valencia Street, San Francisco, CA
http://sanfrancisco.citysearch.com/profile/868351
Time - 6pm until ??
What to Bring - Your bad self and layered clothing
Visual Indicator - Mylar blue balloon
Contacts - Benjamin ( citydude @ sonic dot net) and Julie ( emmyjay @ gmail dot com)
For our cell phone numbers, go to:

Please RSVP. We'd love to get a general sense of who can make it so we can save tables.

Yes, folks it's true. I know you don't want to hear it but... Summer will come to a close and Fall will takes it's place.

Come celebrate with your goofy friends from all over the Bay to Shoreline Amphitheater, in Mountain View, to party on a Saturday night. It's NOT a school night so there is no reason acceptable for not coming. Well unless you are out of town and enjoying yourself! :-)

The bands for the KFox "End Of Summer Concert" are:

Doobie Brothers
Steve Miller
Big Brother and the Holding Company
Greg Kihn

September 22, 2007 Gates open at 4:30 (I will be there by 3:15 so we can get awesome lawn seats) I will need help with securing our spot and believe me...it's worth it! The lawn section has some great seats, we just have to get there early to be in line. Once the gates open it's a free for all. We are also allowed to bring 1 gallon size Ziploc bag oer person with "snacks" in it so as the RSVP's come in we can plan a bit so that we will have an awesome happy hour!

So come one and come all....let me know if you are in.

Oh and i know this is planning WAY ahead of time but they are selling 4 packs of tickets and if I purchase them in advance of the show, and on a Sunday, the "convenience fee" is waived. So, we could go for about $20.00 each. Not a bad price for those bands and a afternoon/evening of fun!

FREE SF Opera Simulcast at AT&T Park, Friday, Sept. 28, @ 6:15 PM

Like Opera? Like Baseball Parks? Like Free Tickets? Would you like to do any of that with a group from Bay Area Friends?

SF Opera will be doing a FREE live simulcast of Saint-Saens' SAMSON AND DELILAH at AT&T Park (yes, at the ballpark) on Friday, September 28. So the opera will be happening live at the Opera House, but we'll be sitting in the bleachers at AT&T Park to watch it on the huge ballpark monitors! Opera, popcorn and beer! Oh my! Plus one long-haired singing hunk and his beautiful seductress! Not to mention, FREE seats for anyone with herpes!

Well, that's because ALL seats are FREE to anyone who reserves them in advance. We've already reserved plenty of seats, but these will only be good for those who arrive early to meet us outside the park at the designated place @ 6:15 PM. Our advance tickets become worthless after 7 PM. Latecomers will be admitted to the park after 7 PM as space is available - no tickets needed. But the best seats will be taken by those who arrive early!

http://www.sfopera.com/news.asp

Even though the event is free, but we need to know if you're coming to give you directions for how to meet us, or if you'll be late, we'll try to give you a way to find us inside - IF we know you're coming!

Please RSVP to Ellen via email asap at:

Sunday Walkabout at Golden Gate Park, Sunday, Sept. 30 @ 1 PM

I hope everyone has been enjoying this summer as much as I have. To add another great adventure to the summer I have added the "Walkabout Golden Gate Park" event to the calendar for Sunday, September 30th. This is a pre Sunset Sunday event, for those that want to get a little exercise before drinking some awesome beer.

This event is about getting exercise, so be prepared to walk, and exploring the park. Some of the places I'm interested in seeing are: Botanical Garden, Japanese Tea Garden, Conservatory of Flowers, Garden of Shakespeare's Flowers, the rose garden, the windmill and tulip garden, Portals of the Past and the Aids Memorial Grove. This list can change due to interest and time restraints. Please email me if you know of any "not to be missed" spots. Some of these places charge an entrance fee: Conservatory of Flowers $5, Japanese Tea Garden $4. Please bring your walking shoes, water, snacks, layers and entrance fee money.

Meet me in front of The Beach Chalet at 1:00 p.m., will return by 5:00 p.m. for Sunset Sunday. The Beach Chalet is located at 1000 Great Highway across from Ocean Beach. I will be easily identified by the blue balloon. Feel free to join up at anytime during the afternoon by calling me and I will let you know where we are. Sunset Sunday is at the Park Chalet, same address as the Beach Chalet but on the first floor rear.
